Terry Headley Award Nominations – Deadline March 31

Nominations for the Terry Headley Lifetime Defender Award are due in just 5 days!

Please take a moment to submit your nomination by March 31st. This is a great opportunity to recognize individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and leadership.

 Terry Headley Lifetime Defender Award recognizes a  NAIFA member who shows exemplary service to their profession, colleagues, and clients through their political advocacy and contributions to the PACs. 

Nomination Process

To submit a nomination, please email ifapac@naifa.org with the nominee’s name and a detailed explanation of why they are being nominated. Be sure to include specific examples demonstrating how the nominee shows a strong commitment to NAIFA’s advocacy efforts at both the state and federal levels.

If applicable, also include:

• Any chapter and/or affiliate-level volunteer roles the nominee has held (past or present)
• The nominee’s years of NAIFA membership, if known

You are also encouraged to invite others to submit letters of recommendation in support of the nominee. These letters should be sent to the same email address listed above.

Decision Process

Once someone has been nominated, they remain on the list until they win, leave NAIFA, or the chapter requests that we remove them for a reason.

• New nominees are submitted to ifapac@naifa.org during the annual NAIFA Award Nominations period.
• PAC staff confirms with Chapter Exec that previous nominees should remain on the list and reminds them to update or add any new and relevant information.
• PAC staff creates a spreadsheet of all PAC totals and Grassroots relationships.
• The National PAC Committee reviews and ranks nominees 1- 10+ through SurveyMonkey.
• The top 3 nominees are sent to the GR Chair, PAC Chair, and Vice Chair, as well as the Grassroots Chair and Vice Chair, for final selection.
• The final nominee is sent to the Executive Committee for approval.
• Final nominee is notified.
• Communications interview and promotion, notification to primary company.
• Award Ceremony.
