PAC Madness is back for 2026!

The 2025 Madness Campaign was remarkably successful in its efforts to boost contributions to NAIFA’s PACs early last year. We saw states large and small rise to the challenge, growing their contribution and contributor totals from the previous year. Are you ready for the Madness?

[fa icon="plus-square"] Why PAC Madness Matters

NAIFA’s PACs are a cornerstone in NAIFA’s Advocacy efforts. NAIFA members pool their resources to contribute to candidates running for legislative office on the state and federal levels. The support given by NAIFA members through our PACs reinforces the NAIFA brand with your lawmakers and gives NAIFA members a foot-in-the-door when issues come before legislatures that require input and insight from financial services professionals.

NAIFA’s PACs have served as a front-line defense for your business interests before legislative bodies like Congress for decades. With the challenges in store on the legislative calendar this year, now is the time to wield our influence as members of NAIFA and financial professionals to ensure that the government isn’t hindering our businesses, clients, and families with overburdensome taxes and regulations.

As of 2026, NAIFA’s PACs have served as NAIFA’s business protection insurance for more 60 years, punching above its weight class amongst other Insurance PACs because of the trust and support NAIFA members place in our efforts. More contributors mean more opportunities to elect lawmakers that care about the impact NAIFA members make in their communities.

[fa icon="plus-square"] How PAC Madness Works

Much like the NCAA March Madness Brackets, we have made our own brackets, dividing NAIFA Nation into four divisions: Generals, Defenders, Advocates, and Ambassadors. Chapters will advance through the brackets by accumulating points for contributions and contributors. Unlike NCAA March Madness, the 2026 PAC Madness tournament is a play on a DoubleElimination Tournament to ensure that all Chapters have more opportunities to participate in the campaign to find new contributors and raise PAC funds for the midterm elections.

There are two brackets: Victory and Redemption. When Chapters face off, winners will move into the next round in the Victory Bracket. Chapters that lose will drop into the Redemption Bracket and face off for the opportunity to compete for a Redemption Bracket Championship.

Tournament divisions were determined based on chapter performance in the 2025 PAC Madness Tournament. Because we have an odd number of chapters, Madness will begin in late February with a preliminary round for the Advocates, Ambassadors, and Defenders divisions.

  • Chapters in the preliminary round are as follows: Arkansas, North Carolina, and New York.

All chapter executives and/or PAC Chairs should request personalized PAC contribution links from leadership@naifa.org.

Prepare your board and your chapter’s leadership to rally the membership to support the PAC from Feb. 23 – April 17. Prepare to check the Madness webpage on Monday evenings and create a personalized solicitation campaign utilizing National’s Tuesday morning update emails which will contain personalized contribution links.

Plan your chapter’s weekly strategy to contact as many NAIFA members as you can to talk about NAIFA’s PACs and the importance of every member participating. This year’s focus: new contributors.

Seeding is as follows:

Teams eliminated in the Preliminary Round will be entered into the Redemption Bracket

PAC Madness begins Tuesday, March 3, 2026, and regular play ends on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM ET for the Top Bracket, and on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM for the Redemption Bracket. There will be two championship rounds, one for each bracket, both lasting from Tuesday – Friday, and beginning on April 7th and April 14th, respectively.

Round advancements will be officially announced on Tuesday mornings via a national email solicitation and update. The Madness website will be updated on Monday evenings.

Chapters can check their Contribution Status by using the Reports Portal in the NAIFA Advocacy in Action Center to pull realtime State Statistics Reports. These reports will reflect all online contributions in real-time. Contributions sent by mail will not be included in these statistics.

The rounds of play last a full week, except for Rounds 6 and 7. Rounds will begin on Tuesdays and end on Mondays at 11:00 AM ET. Rounds 6 and 7 will end on Fridays at 11:00 AM.

The winners will be recognized at Congressional Conference in May. Winners will be recognized from both the Victory and Redemption brackets.

Points and Scoring

Points will be tabulated every Monday at 11:00am. Scores will then be announced Monday evening on the Madness webpage and via email to all membership on Tuesday morning which will include updated brackets.

Contributions:

  • Every $60 raised is 2 points (i.e., If your chapter raised $1200, it would earn 40 points.)

Contributors:

  • New Contributors: Every new contributor is 10 points.
  • Lapsed Contributors: Every lapsed contributor converted is 5 points.

**In the event of a tie, the total number of a chapter’s contributors
for the round of play will determine the winner of that round.
