Written by NAIFA Government Relations Team | May 16, 2024 4:06:46 PM

We are just a few days away from Congressional Conference! We love seeing our members make the trip to Washington, D.C. each year. You can see who's coming broken down by state and noting who participates in a monthly IFAPAC contribution notated by their IFAPAC Monthly Defender badge. We are delighted to announce that we have over 100 first-time attendees coming to D.C. this year to experience meeting with their House and Senate leaders to discuss the following key topics:

Financial Literacy and Continued Access to Products:

> Ensure that public policy preserves Americans’ access to reliable advice and affordable products to reduce risks and protect assets.
> Support financial literacy. Specifically,

  • House: Join the bipartisan Congressional Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation Caucus.
  • Senate: Support awareness efforts to promote the importance of personal financial education.

Financial Protection:
> Congress should continue to help families and businesses to plan and save to attain a secure financial future by maintaining beneficial tools including:
ₒ Favorable individual income taxes, including for retirement savings and capital gains
ₒ Reasonable transfer taxes at death
ₒ Equitable income tax treatment of passthrough small business income
•>Tax policy should encourage Americans to plan for financial and retirement security for themselves, their families, and their employees.

We are asking the House and the Senate to:
> Include us in tax reform discussions to preserve Americans’ access to reliable advice and affordable products to reduce risks, and protect assets.

Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation:

• In America, over 50 million people live in a state of financial crisis.
• When people understand personal finances, they are enabled to make responsible financial decisions.
• NAIFA members help provide Americans with the skills and resources they need for economic stability, wealth-building, and prosperity.

We are asking::
> House: Join the Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation Caucus committed to empowering Americans with the tools needed to build wealth and achieve financial stability.
> Senate: Support awareness efforts to promote the importance of personal financial education.
